The Challenge

1PointFive needed a professional, authoritative interview series (Speaking in Tonnes) to position the company as the leading voice in carbon removal and bring together global corporate leaders around the conversation on decarbonization. The series needed to feel visually consistent and editorially credible across multiple cities, featuring executives from some of the world's most recognized organizations. Coordinating that level of production across New York, London, and Vancouver (with local production teams in each city) required a producer who could own the entire operation from set direction to editorial montage.

The Solution

Alerta's Johann Gamez served as the main producer and set director across all five Speaking in Tonnes shoots. Rather than handing off each city to a separate production company, Alerta coordinated with local production services teams in each market while maintaining full creative and editorial control throughout. Every episode was directed with the same visual language, the same interview structure, and the same editorial tone, ensuring that a conversation filmed in London with an easyJet executive felt as intentional and polished as one filmed in New York with a Shopify leader or in Vancouver with a Breakthrough Energy investor.

The result was a coherent, high-quality editorial series that lives on the 1PointFive website and serves as a flagship content platform for the company's relationships with global corporate partners, including All Nippon Airways, Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, NYK Line, Shopify, easyJet, Breakthrough Energy, and Liverpool Football Club.

How We Did It

Single Producer, global standard

Having Johann Gamez as the consistent creative and production lead across every shoot was the strategic decision that made the series work. Local production services handled on-the-ground logistics in each city. Alerta directed the set, controlled the visual language, and owned the editorial output, ensuring no episode looked or felt like it came from a different team.

Set direction for executive-level conversations

The interview subjects are C-suite and senior leaders from global organizations operating at the intersection of business and climate action. The set design had to reflect gravity, cleanliness, and authority, and be visually consistent with 1PointFive's identity as a serious technology company working on one of the most important problems in the world.

Editorial montage as thought leadership

Each episode was edited not just as an interview but as a piece of strategic content, paced and structured to communicate 1PointFive's positioning in the carbon removal market and make complex technical subjects accessible to a global corporate audience.

Multi-city coordination without quality loss

Managing local production teams across three cities on two continents required precise pre-production planning and the kind of adaptability that only comes from experience. Every location presented different conditions. Every episode came out at the same standard.
